What happened?

Early in the morning on October 14, a large, high-pressure pipe burst underground, causing flooding throughout our building. The only area not affected was the upstairs kids’ area. We are actively working with a professional cleanup and restoration company to dry out the building, remove damaged carpet, drywall, and doors, and clear out furniture and other affected items. This initial cleanup phase is expected to take 10 to 14 days before repairs and restoration can begin.

At this time, we do not know when the building will be ready for us to safely gather again. We know this uncertainty affects our church family, and we will keep you informed as we learn more.

While this is a difficult and unexpected season, we are reminded of a wonderful truth: God’s church has never been a building. It is His people. Wherever we gather, we are still His church, called to worship Him, care for one another, and share the hope of Jesus. Even in the middle of this disruption, we have reasons to be thankful and a God who remains faithful. We will continue to praise Him, trust His provision, and take the next step together.

Thank you for your continued prayers, support, patience, and flexibility. We love you, church family. We serve a good God, and we trust that He will continue His work in us and through us, even in this season.

Where will we meet?

Right now, our Sunday morning worship plan is to meet at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center in Poteau. We will meet each Sunday at 10 a.m. This facility is large enough to accommodate our entire church body under one roof at one time. Worshipping together as ONE church family will be a sweet and much-needed time of encouragement during this season.

We will not be able to meet for our normal Wednesday evening ministries for at least the next four weeks. As difficult as this is, we know flexibility matters right now. We are working hard to find solutions that will allow us to resume our regular Wednesday evening ministries as soon as possible. In the meantime, the following ministries will continue meeting at these temporary locations:

ReEngage: Our ReEngage marriage ministry will continue to meet each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Dowden Roberts Funeral Home.

ReGeneration: Our ReGeneration recovery ministry will continue to meet, but it is moving to Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at Dowden Roberts Funeral Home.

Students: Students in grades 7 through 12 will meet on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the BCM Center at Carl Albert College.

Young Adults: Young Adults will meet on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at the BCM Center at Carl Albert College.
